Off the Wall: A Holiday Ball

The holiday season is fast approaching and that also means it’s yet again time for the annual Off the Wall celebration.

Saturday, December 11^th, 2010, from 7pm to 1am.

Tickets are $20 at the door. BRING YOUR CANNED GOODS (UPTO 5). 1 CAN = 1 RAFFLE TICKET. PRIZES INCLUDE RESTAURANT GIFT CERTIFICATES, A REALLY FABULOUS WINE BASKET AND MORE!!

This year ticket sales are benefiting H.I.S. K.I.D.S., Inc., an organization for families affected by childhood cancer. We’re collecting canned food at the door. Raid your pantry and help these families in their trialing times this season.

The evening will follow a similar format as previous years with a few twists and improvements. The biggest change this year is the location, previously held at City Hall, this year 2720 Cherokee will host the event. A-Listed as St. Louis’ Best Creative Collaboration by St. Louis Magazine, this venue is the perfect location for this art, music, and culinary fusion.

Upscale evening attire is encouraged and prizes for the most outrageous

ENTERTAINMENT Starting at 7pm there will be a schedule of entertainment including Hip hop and Jazz dance performances by Life for Life Academy, solo drummer Phillip McIntyre, a break dancing competition featuring St. Louis’ own Bboys, sketch groups, printing demonstrations by All Along Press, a fashion show, live art demonstrations, and much more.

CULINARY Woven in between this line up of entertainment, ArtDimensions Top Chef, Jonathan Kraft will demonstrate his culinary skills in live cooking demos. The audience will sample the delicious results and help determine the winner. Capture all your senses! You’ll be surrounded by the aroma of these culinary pleasures; the aural percussions of the live music; and the visual spectacle of several art exhibitions. An expanding list of restaurants will offer samples throughout the evening, on the line up so far are LaBeeBee’s, Joanies, and Vitos.

EXHIBITIONS The Gallery will host three exhibitions. The main exhibit, Off the Street will feature work by many of your favorite Cherokee St. artists.

The Off the Wall exhibition will consist of 15 different artists with booths, tables, and wall space selling hand crafted artwork, jewelry, wears. Wrap up your holiday shopping with custom, one of a kind pieces.

The final exhibition will highlight the Art Ambassadors. This November a large group of St. Louis artists will be traveling overseas to Indonesia. The documentation of their trip will be on display in the center studio: photos, videos, sketches and art created by the participating artists.
